Nuestra clase de INF aprendió a utilizar el website Feedly. Este site es una herramienta para poder mantener de manera organizada la información que tu quieres ver. Esta filitra todo lo que no tenga que ver con el tema específico de búsqueda. La manera que esto funciona es que nosotros los usuarios tenemos que crear una cuenta para luego suscribirnos a canales. Aprendimos a crear “feeds” y en estos van todos los canales que escojamos con el tema del feed.
El profesor nos ayudó a crear un feed de tecnología y en esta le pusimos diez canales de la categoría tecnología. La tarea también nos requería que pusieramos diez canales que tuvieran que ver con el tema de nuestro blog, el mío siendo la música y creatividad.

Recomiendo que aprendan a usar Feedly si están buscando un website que tenga un filtro claro y no se vaya del tema. Este ofrece todos los temas de relevancia lo cual puede ser increíblemente útil buscando información para investigaciones
In today’s class (March 5, 2020), we discussed essentially what it is to do collaborative work. Professor Vantaggiato thoroughly explained how via the platform Google Drive we would be able to create a document that we would then be allowed to share with our classmates. Google Drive is an incredibly useful tool that will be used continuously in the INF 103 course. The documents that are shared are more specifically done in Google Docs (documents). The shared document for the class was titled “Crowdsourcing INF103 SEC.3”.
The assignment that we had for today’s class began with the professor creating a new blank document. He then went to the top right corner and pressed the blue button that says “share”, then placed everyone in the class’ email address. Once this was done everyone got the email to access the document. What we as students had to do was to place three links for each of the categories: Youtube channels, Instagram, books, and movies. For the books, we learned how to use GoodReads, the world’s largest community of book lovers where they upload every type of book that there is world known, in order to copy and paste the link. For the movie category we used IMBd.com, a well known platform with a large amount of movie data that offers trailers, information on directors and movie sinopsis.
Throughout the rest of the class, each student had their space in the document and started pasting such links in the document and gave a brief description of the links we chose depending on the category. In this collaborative work, we learned to work as a group to edit one document. The professor was nice of him to give the rest of his class time in order for us to do the work. Although it seemed a bit challenging at times having to manage a document being edited by many classmates, we accomplished the task and finished in no time. If students didn’t get the opportunity to finish the work in class, they may continue during the weekend via email/google docs. Later in the next upcoming class, we will review the work that has been accomplished.

For teenagers in today’s day and age the Internet is an incredible asset. Undeniably, the advancements in technology that are occurring every day are only contributing to the expansion of knowledge, taking humans into exciting but uncharted territory. With this progress comes a responsibility to not only utilize these resources to enrich ourselves but to also take contribute something good to the world.
My relationship with the internet is quite simple, I’m curious and I explore. Although sometimes the overwhelming amount of information can seem intimidating it’s all a matter of finding out what bests suits you. Sites such asYoutubeoften have a set algorithm that adapts to your personal taste.
When you take the time to look for content with substance, it opens doors to enrichment and allows you to be knowledgeable about the artistry that is around us wherever we are.
On a daily basis I spend approximately 5 hours a day using my phone. I know this because of a program that tracks my screen time. Most of this time is spent on various social media apps along with entertainment sites. Overall, I support the use of the internet as not only a creative outlet but as somewhere where it is just searching without substance. The important balance comes in understanding that to be able to grow not only as a person but as a person in this internet age is consuming content with substance.
Nowadays, there are influencers in every social media platform though mainly onTwitter and Instagram. Often these influencers portray a very unattainable lifestyle, this being one of the reasons that it is necessary not to lose sight of what reality really is.
The internet is an incredibly powerful tool. Us as the users must be aware of how distorted reality could be since are only on the other side of the screen. As long as we have this knowledge then we are absolutely free to intake the information we desire.
Here we see on Instagram and Youtube how the web can be used as resources in order to share scientific and informative information.
They say that with great power comes great responsibility. ¿Do we as society understand the importance of what we have quite literally on our fingertips? Unlike years before, when we fully depended on encyclopedias and text book definitions, now we have millions of search results pop up within seconds of pressing enter. This gives us personal opinions, scientific investigations, compare and contrasts all on the same topic. Otherwise unreachable, now in this internet age we can use all of these resources for our own benefit. The fact that a search engine as powerful as Google is free is incredible.
As young professionals we have to learn how to create an online presence for ourselves. Utilizing WordPresshelps us build our online personality for our professional and personal business.
With countless technological advancements I believe the future of the World Wide Web is still in its developmental days. I know that it will influence my life as it goes on and the lives of my children’s children. I look forward to seeing what unimaginable inventions will appear thirty years from now.
